To set up a card with ‌Apple Pay‌, open the Wallet app on a compatible iPhone and tap the plus button in the top-right corner. Once activated, Apple Pay can be used with an iPhone or Apple Watch to make purchases at stores that accept contactless payments, while many apps and websites also accept the service.

In related news, the Citymapper Pass transit card can now be added to the Wallet app for use with Apple Pay. The card provides unlimited public transportation across the subway, bus, and rail in London for a weekly price. Citymapper plans to expand the card to other cities around the world in the future.

Apple has fulfilled its promise of Apple Pay being available in more than 40 countries and regions by the end of 2019.

Subways are free in the UK (I'm referring to the pedestrian underpasses under roads) and don't require Citymapper Pass. We also have Subways where we can buy sandwiches (just like in the US), but Citymapper Pass doesn't support this.

However, the London Underground is supported by Citymapper Pass...

Nice to see CityMapper Pass supporting Apple Pay! Now we just need Apple Pay Express Transit to be available for TfL! They seem to have been quiet on it since May :(

Apple has fulfilled its promise of Apple Pay being available in more than 40 countries and regions by the end of 2019.
Apple fulfilled that promise long ago, namely last June when they passed the 40 countries mark by adding 13 European countries. Nonetheless, the number is meaningless when 90% of those countries are in a single region of the world. It will be more meaningful when they start rolling out to countries in other regions of the world. Hopefully we’ll have some news on that soon as South Africa is expected to get Apple Pay before 2019 ends, becoming the first African country to ever get Apple’s mobile wallet.

Apple Pay has basically made me hate physical credit cards by now. I applaud Apple for making society move on from such an archaic concept.

So let’s do the same with x86 CPUs... ;)

This thread is now about Apple using their ARM CPUs in upcoming Macs.

I love using Apple Pay. So easy and convenient.

I don’t understand why everyone doesn’t have Apple Pay, Samsung pay, and Google pay adopted by now.

Same. I get annoyed if I have to dig out my wallet.
It is always annoying.

Where I am in California, it’s available almost everywhere, except in mid-range and higher restaurants, and the Costco gas station, so we’re pretty spoiled.
We stopped shopping at Target until they added Apple Pay. We no longer shop at Ralph’s, instead using Sprouts, Target and Von’s. Over time, I expect that restaurants will begin to move to the European model with the server bringing a handheld checkout device to the table.
