At $600 off, B&H Photo's sale is currently the best price for this configuration of the 15-inch MacBook Pro available online, and it comes in $100 below the previous best price we tracked for this model. The new sale will last through tomorrow, December 20 at 4:30 p.m. ET.

“$600 off” makes it sound like a good deal, but it isn’t. It’s $2200 with 512/16, and you can get the new 16” with 512/16 for $2400 (plus it goes on sale). The change in base storage (from 256 to 512) means these older models need heavy discounts just to be in line with what is now a standard configuration.

junk hardware. Completely agree with your keyboard comment. Tim can stuff it along with his dongles.

really hoping the new MacBooks come out soon with new keyboards and hopefully some useful ports :S I’m wishing too much for the last one because Timmy loves his dongle revenue

This is so true. Unless it was significantly cheaper than the newer model it’s not worth it. The $600 claim is a bit misleading. The $200 reality isn’t significantly cheaper it’s definitely not worth it
