1Password 7.7 also introduces support for unlocking with an Apple Watch on Macs with Touch ID, as well as many newer models of the Mac mini, iMac, and Mac Pro. When enabled, you'll receive a notification on your Apple Watch any time you open 1Password on macOS Catalina or later. Simply double click the side button on the Apple Watch to unlock the app. Unlocking the app with Touch ID is still an option — both can be enabled at once.

1Password for Safari has also been revamped, and now intelligently offers logins, credit cards, and identities right on a webpage.

AgileBits informed us that 1Password currently runs through Apple's translation layer Rosetta 2, adding that it is excited about the opportunities native Apple Silicon support will offer and hopes to have more to say on the subject soon.

1Password 7.7 is a free update for all 1Password subscribers.

This is awesome. The main reason I use TouchID is 1Password. The main reason I currently use a laptop over a Mac Mini is TouchID. I have commented on this a few times in other discussions.

Looks like it's not updated on the App Store yet. Definitely excited about this though.

Why pay when you can use iCloud keychain, or LastPass for free?
I can't speak for LastPass but shared vaults are the biggest deal for me over iCloud Keychain. (And iCloud Keychain isn't all that useful for keep non-password material safe.)

The family plan + shared vaults with 1Password is extremely convenient, especially as the guy who manages everyone else's security in my family—including my parents who would be using like 1-2 easy passwords for everything. We store everything from wills, to ID scans, to CC info there. It let's my wife and I easily share a lot of sensitive data and, while helping dealing with a medical crisis with my younger brother, we can keep a bunch of his medical logins and data shared with me, his wife, and him.

It's also multi-platform at this point which is handy.

Integrating 2FA OTP secrets is super nice. I was able to get rid of Duo.

I really can't say enough about 1Password. I've been using it for years and the paid version for... eh... two years now? Something like that. It's a utility that's so important I want to support its continued development. Features like this are exactly why I'm happy to pay.

See no reason with unlock with Apple Watch on TouchID Macs, personally I have disabled unlock/authenticate with Apple Watch om Macs with TouchID.
Defiantly a nice one for Desktop Macs with no TouchID
My laptop spends 99% of it's life docked with the screen closed. I'm already in love with this new feature.

Why pay when you can use iCloud keychain, or LastPass for free?
Keychain is a great option, but can't handle TOTP. (That can be resolved by using Authy or Google Authenticator.)
The main reason I use 1Password is that I can't use Keychain on my work-PC (Windows ?). Nor can I share passwords with the family.
And 1Password offers more than just password management :)

But if I didn't have those needs, I'd use Keychain...
