A new Discover Samsung event has kicked off this week on the retailer's website, discounting a wide selection of monitors, TVs, and more home electronics for a limited time. Specifically, this sale runs through May 21, although some deals will last for one day only during this weeklong event.

Starting with monitors, Samsung has its iMac-like Smart Monitor M8 for $499.99, down from $699.99. This is a second-best price on the monitor, but still a solid deal at $200 off the original price.

My 2 cents: stay the f* away from any samsung monitor!

I bought a samsung odyssey G9 neo last year ($1500-$2000) and I regret it every day.
The monitor makes ticking sounds every 2-3 seconds, louder than my Mac Studio, the screen randomly flickers, 2 dead pixels, which is less than an arbitrary number of dead pixels that require a replacement, and the OSD menu has a 1-2 seconds response lag.
"Best" part, I've been trying for the past 6 (six!) months to get it fixed/replaced.
They first wanted to send someone to my home to fix the monitor - are you f* kidding me?
Then they sent the return box (I kept the original box, but you can't use that for returns!?) to the wrong address - which I provided in an email to them.
I wrote them to fix the address - they sent the second box to the wrong address, again.
Not to mention that their customer care replies after 2+ weeks "We're sorry, we have a high number of enquires" - I f* imagine.
F* samsung and their ****** products and customer care!

I concur but would add stay away from there appliances also. The quality is garbage now. Samsung used to be great but they‘ve lost there way quality and service wise.

I heard it will be sometime in the first quarter, so still more than a half year away.
First quarter of 2024? It does not seem to be wise to showcase monitor one year before releasing it.

I bought that Smart Monitor M8 the last time they had a discover sale. It was the worst monitor I have ever used. It went back the very next day. Bad picture quality aside, it wants to be a smart tv more than it wants to be a desktop monitor. When I would disconnect it from one machine to connect to another it would switch to tv mode and start playing a preview of some random stream and then would require the remote to switch inputs over to the new machine. Turning it on, it would start in tv mode. If the panel was actually good and the intended use was as a tv and occasional monitor, I would say buy it. However the panel is not suitable for a tv viewing experience due to the small viewing angles.
