I'm not "Ready for HomeView".
I'm still trying to determine what the purpose of this product is.
So far, no luck 🫪.

Imagine how many people Tim Apple had to ignore when they told him this was a terrible product for it to actually reach production

I'm not "Ready for HomeView".
I'm still trying to determine what the purpose of this product is.
So far, no luck 🫪.

I'm starting a kitchen remodel project. Basically ripping everything down to bare studs, even moving a window. I think I will plan a place for HomeView. Then a year later if something else comes out it can go in the same place.

Basically, it is an always-on Siri microphone and speaker and a screen for looking at the front door Ring cameras and a speaker for music or even audiobooks. Then lighting control. I have Hue smart lights. I keep them dimmed and "warm white" except when working on food prep or cleaning, when they go to "daylight". HomeView would make a nice light control and also a clock and a smart oven timer.

I know $300 seems expensive but it does not add much to the cost of a $30,000 project.

The Govee light string is the same price at Amazon and Costco ('https://www.costco.com/p/-/govee-180ft-permanent-outdoor-lights-elite/4201005353?langId=-1'). But Costco gets you 180 feet. The Costco price is only good for a few more days: October 18.
