Java Report bags WebObjects

Timothy Priest writes "A quick heads up on the April Java report (paper version, not sure about the web version). A story entitled "Predicting the weather with a scalable Java Application Server" by Philip J. Gill states:

"As for Apple's WebObjects, Worden (Stephen Worden, CTO of strategic weather services) says the product was "underpowered" in that it wasn't fault-tolerant and scalable enough for a site that is hoped could become a popular consumer destination, and which would, therefore, need to scale to support, potentially, thousands of users."

Now I am not the most knowledgeable person on these things, but I would think that if WebObjects can handle Apple's site, as well as the US post office and Adobe, it should be ok for a site like this. Is this just product bashing, or is there substance to the ascertation? If there is not, I think The Java Report should get a rap-over-the-knuckles for this one.

Is there someone out there who can debunk this claim? "
