Got It!

Well, I snagged MacOS X today! After typing this, I'll get to the install. Quite the story...

I called all the local Staples and one said that they had OS X in-stock, and when I asked if I could come grab a copy, I was told, "sure." So, I cancelled my Cyberian Outpost order and headed on over there. As I walked up to the guy I apparently spoke to on the phone, I could see that he, another Staples guy (above him), and a customer were in a discussion about how it could not be sold until Sat.

Well, to make a long story short, and to intentionally omit some details in what followed...we walked out with MacOS X. But I can guarantee that no one else will before Sat., from that store anyway.
Given that it's now common knowledge that here and there people have gotten OS X from Staples, I think my not revealing what area of the country I'm talking about will sufficiently protect the Staples guys that helped us out.

So...your luck may vary (wildly). Off to do the install!
