XGrid - Confirmed?

This Ars post confirms an Apple distributed computing network product called XGrid

Today at a colloquium for a new tech park at Purdue, Jim Bottom, VP of IT, discussed the new high-load processing capabilities we have on campus, including IBM big iron, as well as three different distributed computing networks... one of which is from Apple. He called it "X-Grid" and said it was a "to be announced" product from Apple. I asked another fella high-up in IT, and he confirmed the product, although didn't give me any other details besides mentioning something about the Altivec unit (Apple is probably touting it as useful for doing this kind of complex calculation).

XGrid was trademarked in November 2002 by Apple.
