Apple invited media to a special event to take place at 10:00 a.m. in the Moscone Center West in San Fransisco on September 7, 2005. The teaser invite featured a pair of denim jeans and the caption "1000 songs in your pocket changed everything. Here we go again."
ThinkSecret reports that Apple's event will be devoted to the new iTunes-enabled Motorola phone that has been long discussed. The new phone is reportedly available in two capacities: 256MB and 512MB allowing users to store 70 and 130 songs respectively.
According to the rumor site, users will be able to buy songs over Cingular's network for approximately $2 a song. This contradicts previous comments by Steve Jobs.
Meanwhile, analysts reported that interest in an Apple-branded iTunes phone appears to generate a significant amount of interest based on a small 200-person survey.
ThinkSecret also notes updates to Apple's iPod mini are on the horizon. The new flash-only based design is reportedly 20-25% smaller and will likely be introduced at Apple Expo Paris. Sizes are reported to come in a 4GB, 6GB and 8GB sizes and sport a color screen with slightly higher resolution. Meanwhile the high end iPod shuffle is expected to be bumped up to 2GB ($129-$149) with the 512MB and 1GB iPod dropping in price respectively to $69 and $99.
Buzz about an entirely Flash-memory based iPod mini first appeared in late August amidst reports that Samsung had negotiated to become the primary Flash supplier for Apple.
Meanwhile, many were surprised of Apple's announcement that there will be no Keynote speech for the Apple Paris Expo which will kick off on September 20th.
