Cultured Code's popular task management app, Things, is now free for a limited time. The productivity app is being discounted as part of Apple's week-long "Free App of the Week" promotion and is the first time the app has ever been offered for free.

The sale extends to both the iPhone and iPad version of the app, offering a combined savings of $30 on the two iOS apps. Things for iOS normally is priced at $9.99 for the iPhone version and $19.99 for the iPad version. To celebrate this promotion, Cultured Code also is lowering its price on Things for the Mac ($34.99), taking 30 percent off the full $49.99 price of the app.

Things for the iPhone [Direct Link] and iPad [Direct Link] are available now for free in the iOS App Store and will remain on sale through November 28. The sale on the Mac version [Direct Link] is also live with the discount available for the upcoming week.

Things is App of the Week? Apple please.

Cultured Code is the laziest bunch of developers I've ever seen. It took them 2 years to update their damn app for iOS 7 / 8. Refused to provide ETA for anything upcoming and asked people to "use whatever suits them" when they complained about having paid premium cash for their suit (in other words: "F.O. and don't bother us.") Their apps are half baked at best and made only with compromises. A to-do app that doesn't even have time based reminders! LMFAO, no, thank you.

I used Things for a long time before shifting to OmniFocus. Although OF was somewhat complicated to begin with, I never had to look back again.

Normally between $10 and $50. How do they justify those prices for something so trivial? Out of the box I can do the same things in Calendar and Notes on my iPhone.

Things 3 is coming, and it's going to be a new app, and you'll have to pay again. Pretty sure now.

Does this mean it IS free if I download it today and will remain free OR does this mean that i am getting a free trial for so many days but if i decide to keep it after that period, it will cost me a certain amount of money?

You are getting the full app for free. When they change the price back to the regular price, you are considered to have purchased it, so like any other app you have already purchased, you don't have to pay a second time.
