After years of speculation, Apple may be preparing to open its first retail store in Belgium in the city of Brussels, reports Belgian blog Apple Nieuws Vlaanderen. Apple yesterday posted six job listings for vacant positions in the upcoming Brussels location.

Details on the store and its location were not provided in the listing, but the store is believed to be planned on the Guldenvlieslaan in a new complex which is currently under construction. The building is expected to be completed in 2015, with Apple as a possible launch retailer. Future Belgian Apple stores are expected for Ghent and Antwerp following the Brussels opening.

Apple is continuing to expand its retail operations under the leadership of Angela Ahrendts, opening stores both domestically and internationally. The company opened its first stores in Turkey earlier this year and has also been hiring for stores in the United Arab Emirates

Finally! I'm not fan of the current franchises in Belgium. Service depends on the mood and knowledge of the personnel and it varies greatly.

I have had two bad experiences with these franchises. I shop online or drive to Amsterdam or Paris for now

Sorry to hear about your trouble with that particular Premium Reseller.
I was talking about Easy-M being the competitor premium reseller and I always had there excellent service, fast repairs, affordable prices and great discounts.
I'm talking about their stores in Leuven/Louvain, haven't had experience with their other stores.
I wasn't talking about that one reseller - in fact their location switched a while back to Easy-M and I still had issues there. I'm discussing my general experience with resellers in Belgium in general.

An actual Apple Store will be more than welcome!

Yup - I shop online or wait until I travel to the UK myself...it'll be good to finally have an actual Apple Store in Brussels, and I have zero sympathies for the franchises who have caused me more than enough issues in the past (exceptionally long warranty repair time (https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=594646), very high charges to diagnose an issue with a laptop that was then too expensive to justify repairing, flat out lying about not accepting pre-orders on an iPhone, and when I turned up on the day to buy one, they stated they had all been sold in pre-order, as well as small stuff like staff spending time chatting amongst themselves or to friends when there are customers waiting, etc).

That same situation did not save myriad other competitors in other countries. Apple stores will get all the new products first. Resellers will have to wait.
Good luck with that loyalty scheme.
