Apple's $634 Million Apple Watch Patent Bill Just Got Even Bigger

Apple's $634 million patent loss to medical technology company Masimo has just gotten even bigger, after a federal judge ordered Apple to pay an additional $184 million in interest on what it owes (via Bloomberg Law). Save yourself the time and just look at the important clips. One of the most boring keynotes Apple has done in a long time.

Another person who has decided that the keynote is for their entertainment, when Apple doesn't actually care how you personally feel about the keynote.

I'm not addressing Apple, I'm giving my opinion to other readers who may want to watch. Why you assume I think Apple cares is beyond me.

I don't often agree with Leo Laporte but today on his live special he got it right. He said the keynote lacked cohesiveness and it felt like Apple was just announcing a bunch of stuff and not really tying it all together. I agree. Take the new News app. Looks quite nice and I'm sure I'll try it out but what's the point of it? Is it Apple's way of saying Newsstand was a bad idea? Is there another purpose for it? And the Music portion of the event was painful to listen to and about 15 minutes too long. Jason Snell said on his podcast with Myke Hurley that the music section was the worst presentation he can remember at an Apple event. He said it was unfocused and self-indulgent. Which is a shame because Apple Music could be compelling but Cue and Iovine didn't sell it at all. It makes me wonder, did anyone at Apple do a run through of the music presentation. I can't believe the executive team could sit through a run through of that and think it was good. One thing is for sure, keep Jimmy Iovine off the stage. He's terrible.
