Apple Seeds Xcode 7 Beta 6 to Developers

Apple today seeded Xcode 7 beta 6 to registered developers, more than two weeks after releasing Xcode 7 beta 5 alongside the fifth beta of iOS 9.

Is anyone seeing this in the software update mechanism in the Mac App Store?
I haven't seen Xcode BETAs in there before (I've seen OS X Betas).

Gary

As far as I know, Xcode has never been in the MAS as a beta version. You'll need to get those from the Developer website.

When my 27" iMac comes in, I think i'm going to give xcode a whirl. Time to start learning how to program.

No time like the present. Just dive into Python now.

Python comes preinstalled with OS X and Linux. It's really easy to install on Windows, too.

With Xcode 7b6 shipping with iOS9b5 SDK, it looks as though there won't be a iOS9/watchOS2 beta 6 this week :-(

RIP, MacBook Ultra

Monday October 19, 2026 9:37 am PDT by Joe Rossignol

Apple today sent out invites for an experience in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 28, and the "Pro and tell" tagline on the invitation likely means that the rumored MacBook models with touch-enabled OLED displays will stick with MacBook Pro branding instead of the once-rumored "MacBook Ultra" name. The long-rumored "iPhone Ultra" ended up being named iPhone Duo, so speculation that Apple...
