Apple Seeds Third OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan Beta to Developers

Apple today seeded the third beta of an upcoming OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan update to developers, just one week after seeding the second beta and three weeks after releasing the first OS X El Capitan update to the public, OS X 10.11.1.

The new beta is available through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store and can be downloaded through the Apple Developer Center.

We don't know exactly what improvements the second update to OS X El Capitan will introduce, as many of the changes seem to be under-the-hood upgrades. It’s likely to focus on bug fixes, security enhancements, and performance improvements to address problems that have popped up since the release of OS X 10.11.1.

Apple's release notes for OS X 10.11.2 have asked developers to focus on Networking, Graphics, Mail, Wi-Fi, Calendar, USB, Notes, Photos, and Spotlight.

Why are thoughtful people installing a beta on production machines? Why?
I install on an unused drive and transfer my data from a production machine to see/test if it is ready or not. In my opinion, Yosemite was never ready or fixed. Many of the problems I reported were fixed in El Capitan, but as usual more were introduced at the same time.

Apple is turning into 1 step forward, 2 steps back on Mac OS X sadly.

Cltr-K from Finder is the best way, but it's still not stable and normally disappears after a reboot (even after adding the drive/location in User Login Settings in Prefs)
I've sent log to Synology support and they accessed the remote access of my NAS with no joy. We'll be on Teamviewer on monday to try and fix, but I guess it will be try and see there's an issue-with-the-OS-we-cant-solve-but-pray-Apple-will.

As someone that has to support Mac in SMB it is one of the most annoying things about OS X. Apple clearly think File servers are old hat and everything should/is/will be cloud based. This of course is total BS. We have lots of servers Mac/Linux/Windows/NAS etc all acting as File servers. With every iteration of OS X or even dot release you need a different client side or server side fix. Its a constant battle to keep it all working and throw in Adobe/MS apps in the mix and you pretty much have daily fubars.
I hear you. I'm in the same boat. I support Macs too and if your theory is right, that Apple is ignoring SMB because everything is moving to the Cloud (something I think has been vastly overhyped in the previous years and is failing to pan out for the most part) then it's an uncharacteristically shortsighted position for them. Even with some things moving to the Could, there will still be a need for solid SMB support for at least another decade. And in some cases, "the Cloud" will be a file server internal to a company (i.e., sites accessing their files hosted at a company-hosted off-site data center) so that hardly justifies ignoring basic file access protocols.

Not sure what they're thinking but this is, by far, the worst OS X problem I've ever dealt with. SMB is just a disaster.

At some point, Apple is just going to have to admit that OS X doesn't actually support SMB.

it's for beta testing machines only...
Yes I realise that.

I'm on 10.11.1 and having these issues. Holding for 10.11.2 to fix it.
