Apple Releases macOS 10.14.1 With Group FaceTime and New Emoji

Apple today released macOS Mojave 10.14.1, the first major update to the macOS Mojave operating system available on Apple's Mac lineup. macOS Mojave 10.14.1 comes a little over a month after the release of the macOS Mojave update.

macOS Mojave 10.14.1 can be downloaded by going to the "Software Update" section of System Preferences, a new installation method that was introduced with the Mojave update.

The 10.14.1 update introduces support for Group FaceTime, a feature that was removed during the beta testing period. Group FaceTime, which lets you chat with up to 32 people at once, is also available in iOS 12.1.

macOS Mojave 10.14.1 brings more than 70 new emoji characters that are also available in iOS 12.1 and watchOS 5.1. There are new options for red hair, curly hair, no hair, and gray hair, along with characters to represent superheroes, cold face, party face, pleading face, and face with hearts.

There are a number of new animals and food items like kangaroo, parrot, lobster, mango, lettuce, and cupcake. Tweaks have been made to some existing emoji as well. The iPhone emoji, for example, has been updated to look like the iPhone X with no bezels or Home button.

I wish Apple would focus on fixing things rather than adding more pointless emoji's
What if I told you the team that draws emojis is different from the one that fixes bugs?

It says it needs to be an APFS formatted drive. I clean installed Mojave on this mini a few weeks ago. If it's not APFS that's not my fault. Maybe they will get it straightened out tomorrow.
Going by Disk utility mine is formatted as APFS

Is there a list with all the new things in the update? The details provided in the update is quite minimal.

That's the kind of information I'm asking for! Where did you find it?

You will get e-mails usually a couple hours after Apple releases any update, and it details the security and system changes made with the updates. Some of them can be quite long and ambiguous (Quite a few of "A memory corruption issue was addressed with improved validation.), but it gives you an idea of just how much of the system gets updated with these "small" X.X.1 updates.

Also I usually compare apps I use a lot (such as Safari) before and after an update is installed, to see if they updated it. Safari did receive an update to 12.0.1 with macOS 10.14.1. No doubt security updates as performance feels the same (no snappy).
