Twelve South Announces 'AirSnap Pro' Case for AirPods Pro

by

Twelve South today launched pre-orders for the AirSnap Pro, a leather case accessory for Apple's AirPods Pro. Similar to the AirSnap for the original AirPods, the AirSnap Pro protects the AirPods Pro from drops and scratches.

The case has a cutout for the Lightning port on the AirPods Pro, but it also supports wireless charging on compatible Qi mats. The accessory comes with a nylon wristlet that can be used to hold your AirPods Pro on walks or runs, as well as an included S-clip that can be used to attach the AirSnap Pro to a backpack or purse.

I think these accessory companies are charging way too much for products like this. It’s not that they’re not functional and useful, but are consumers willing to pay that amount of money for a ‘snap on’ case with a carabiner? I’m willing to wager not many at all. If the price was more competitive, I could see this being more appealing to the right demographic.

Another example, was there was an article posted last week where a carabiner could attach into the lighting port of the AirPods, charging between $20-30-ish dollars for their product. That’s just simply not attractive.

That you can't take the Air Pods out without opening up the case is a failure.
