MacRumors readers and users on Reddit started noticing the change today, which provides ‌Apple Pay‌ as an alternative method to saving a credit card or bank account information.

‌Apple Pay‌ can be set up for auto payments, and when used with Apple Card, the ‌Apple Card‌ provides three percent cash back.

‌Apple Pay‌ is not available when making purchases of devices or accessories from the T-Mobile website, and it appears to be limited to bill payments.

I don't think it's possible to do AutoPay with ApplePay, but with T-mobile, you do get a $5 per line discount for being on AutoPay. And it is possible to be signed up for that and then just go into the app manually and pay your balance before the AutoPay date and keep the AutoPay discount.

I am glad to see this, though. I actually had gone into a T-mobile store to try to pay my bill early with ApplePay and when the clerk tried to do it and I scanned my phone, he got an alert saying I had to use my physical card. Well I don't even carry my physical AppleCard and that would have taken the cash back from 3% down to 1% anyway.
not true at all...

I just setup Autopay with ApplePay (using Apple Card) on TMobile right now.

Verizon does the opposite. You can’t pay your bill with Apple Pay but you can upgrade devices and buy accessories with it.

Does this method now qualify for 3% Cash Back when paying with Apple Card?
Yup. Look at my screenshots above. Apple Card + Apple Pay + T-Mobile bill payment or T-Mobile Store payment = 3%
