Apple Signs First Look TV and Movie Deal With Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way Production Company

Apple has inked a first look deal with Appian Way Productions, a film and television production company founded by actor Leonardo DiCaprio, reports Deadline.

The multi-year deal will allow Apple the first opportunity to pick up new TV and movie projects produced by Appian Way.

Apple is already working with Appian Way on "Shining Girls," a metaphysical thriller starring Elisabeth Moss. Apple also owns the rights to "Killers of the Flower Moon," a Martin Scorsese film that will star Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro.

Apple has established similar first look deals with A24, Idris Elba's Green Door Pictures, Ridley Scott's Scott Free Productions, Justin Lin's Perfect Storm Entertainment, and more.

In that the Romans had tons of slaves, and the Appian Way was built by the Romans for military purposes would it really be a good idea for Apple to be doing business with a company called "Appian Way"?
Hmmmm... given that all societies held tons of slaves and all societies had militaries should we even be remembering the past at all? Forget the past, what could possibly go wrong.

Remarkable the lengths people will go to in order to complain. I hope this agreement results in some good entertainment.

Meanwhile Mac mail still crashes regularly, and iCloud mail doesn’t support custom domain names. Or indeed any feature you’d see in other mail offerings.
I'm sure the Apple TV department will drop what they're doing to fix Apple Mail. Just. For. You.

As a glass half full guy...
These blank check vanity projects sure look good on a press release but what is the expected content?
That's what is so exciting. Wait and see. In two or so years we should start seeing the output of all these many deals. Might be some exciting projects, might not be. But at least there's something brewing at Apple.
