Twitter Gains Unique 'Like' Animation for Apple Event

Twitter has today added a unique "like" animation for Apple's "Hi, Speed" event that is to take place later today.

The brief animation reflects the concentric circles used on the artwork and graphics used to promote the Apple event. The circles also seem to be present on the wallpapers from leaked images of the iPhone 12.

This is the second time Apple has used a unique Twitter "like" animation to promote an event, with the first occasion being for the "Time Flies" event last month.

Apple also has used a custom Twitter hashtag with its logo, just as it did for the "Time Flies" event last month, for the "Hi, Speed" event today.

Are these custom hashtags and emotes only available to businesses or brands? Or is it any user who ponies up enough money (million$)?

I just find the whole thing interesting, as it reminds me of pay-to-win games and cash shops. But hey, at least Twitter finally figured out how to make money. :)

I kinda sense people are way more excited about the like animation than the phone itself.

Ya know, ever since my Apple II days, I still kinda hate the guy. He was for the most part a jerk.

But, he was an F'ng genius. And a prophet, and all those things we would like to think we could be. But we're not.

I said a while ago, Apple needs to be careful they don't go down the same road of insular hubris that doomed Sears, GM, Compaq, Kodak, etc.

Even Jeff Bezos expects Amazon to end up bankrupt one day at the hands of an industry "disrupter". No reason the same can't happen here.
He was a piece of work, for sure, but his commitment to his products and pushing the envelope is undeniable. And in this case, when it comes to describing monopolistic giants putting their eggs into the marketing basket, he's spot on.

All these marketing gimmicks, and when it comes to the actual product what do we get? Another identical iteration of an iteration of an iteration, showered in forced enthusiasm and scripted marketing. Sorry for reposting this so many times, but it really describes Apple as it has become today:
