Studio Display Shipping Estimates Have Significantly Improved

Four months after Apple released the Studio Display, shipping estimates for the display are finally showing significant improvement in many countries.

While the Studio Display was estimated for delivery in 8-10 weeks as of May, and in 6-8 weeks as of June, Apple's online store now shows a much shorter 1-2 week delivery estimate for new orders in the United States. These timeframes apply to the $1,599 configuration of the Studio Display with standard glass and a tilt-adjustable stand, with upgraded configurations still facing lengthier but improving shipping estimates.

In Canada, a Studio Display ordered today can be delivered by Apple as early as July 26, and UK orders are facing a 3-4 weeks wait.

Introduced alongside the Mac Studio in March, the Studio Display is a standalone display that serves as a lower-priced alternative to Apple's Pro Display XDR. The display features a 27-inch screen with 5K resolution, a 12-megapixel Ultra Wide camera with Center Stage, a six-speaker sound system with Spatial Audio, one Thunderbolt 3 port, and three USB-C ports. Upgrade options include nano-texture glass and a height-adjustable stand.

I’m actually tempted to get a second one. It’s been the best display I’ve owned.

Still can't understand why Apple doesn't make a consumer display that is nothing more than an iMac with no "cpu guts".

Edit: Not saying the chin would be great but you could put better speakers in it or some other features. Point is this would require minimal engineering costs etc and give us a consumer grade, and price, product.

This monitor IS an iMac with no CPU guts... that's why the iMac was always seen as a bargain.
It very clearly is not. It is the same resolution but several features of the Studio display are better than an iMac.

I know people just want Apple products at a cheaper price point, but then they would be Apple products in brand only and not what actually makes them better — that engineering and refinement we come back for.
Don't confuse my request for a consumer monitor as one for something "cheap". Apple makes many consumer level products ex: 24" iMac, the Mac Mini, Macbook Air, etc. There is plenty of space for Apple to make a premium-ish 5k panel for those of us that don't need the Studio and/or the XDR, say $900-1000. Again, take the CPU out of an iMac and give me 2 inputs and we are done.

It is stupid of Apple to abandon their customers of entry level computers with no matching monitor. Mini customers have been screaming for this forever. Why cater to the $699 base price mini crowd and not offer them a comensurate quality monitor that isn't over 2x the cost?
