Starting with the Best Buy deals, you can get the 256GB 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro for $899.00 with a My Best Buy Plus/Total membership, down from $1,299.00. The 512GB model is at $999.00 with this extra discount, down from $1,499.00.
Note: Only My Best Buy Plus/Total members can see these final deal prices.
Both of these represent all-time low prices on the 2022 MacBook Pro, which has the Touch Bar. Even without the exclusive My Best Buy Plus/Total discounts these remain solid deals if not quite record low prices.
Secondly, B&H Photo has the 256GB 13-inch M2 MacBook Air for $899.00, which is down from $999.00. Apple dropped the price of this model down to $999.00 this week with the introduction of the new M3 MacBook Airs, and this is the first notable discount on that price that we've tracked.

After weighing the differences and considering that I want to use this computer for many years, I opted to go for the 14” M3 Pro MBP with 18 GB RAM. While the larger RAM and storage specs of the M2 for less money is a very good deal, I think 18GB of RAM is plenty for my needs and the addition of MagSafe, an additional Thunderbolt port (functionally two additional when you consider you use a Thunderbolt port on the M2 when you use the laptop while charging) and HDMI added a lot more flexibility for a variety of situations. The larger screen will be very nice, 13” feels a little too small. Then throw in niceties like the mini LED XDR display and brighter SDR, improved webcam, better speaker setup, etc. and the price difference felt justified over the M2.
The $200 savings on the M3 Pro model isn’t the biggest discount in the world but it’s something and my current MBP, the 13” 2020 Intel i5 model, needs a battery replacement anyway, so the time to do it was now.
I still think anyone who needs the bulked up RAM and storage and doesn’t need all the extras of the M3 models should absolutely grab that M2 while it’s still available at the sale price.
well my primary laptop was the same 13 mbp but the base model with 8gb ram and 256 ssd. so this is a needed spec update. I was on the market for a new one since the release of the m3 mbp's but this gave the perfect combination and price and for the laptop I like to use. I like Touch Bar (idk why people hate it) and the battery life is insane. soo very happy with the purchase.
I think if you’re looking for a good computer, aren’t hung up on having the latest design and don’t consider the Touch Bar as a hindrance, there is a lot to be said for the 13 inch M2 Pro.
I cancelled my M2 15” MBA 16GB/1TB and picked up the 24GB/1TB 13” Pro instead. I got it for $1399 as a Best Buy Plus member. My M1 8/512 can now go to the wife or slot down to test machine status.
I mean at that price, it's hard to not recommend. It may be an "outdated" chassis, but it's still sleek. Aside from the webcam, it's a fully modern and capable machine. Go forth and enjoy, I do say!! lol
