If you have any interest in the next generation of Galaxy smartphones expected to be revealed on January 22, Samsung is offering a $50 credit just for entering your name and email on this landing page. Doing this does not require you to purchase a Galaxy phone when it launches, but if you do you'll get $50 off an eligible device at launch.

Similarly, you can get $50 in Samsung credit to put toward the upcoming Galaxy Book5 Pro and $100 in Samsung credit to put toward upcoming TVs and audio devices. In terms of the smartphones, Samsung is expected to reveal the next Galaxy devices on January 22 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time.

In regards to the rest of the sale, the best monitor deals include the popular 27-inch ViewFinity S9 5K Smart Monitor for $999.99, down from $1,599.99. At $600 off this is a solid second-best price on the 2023 display, which has a matte display, modular 4K SlimFit camera, and support for Thunderbolt 4.

I have re-tasked my year-old, troublesome, twice-repaired Viewfinity S9 5k screen to my wife as her primary screen attached to her M2 Mac mini. When it was a secondary screen for my previous iMac, it was never a good fit - it would refuse to light up most of the time from sleep, requiring me to power cycle it via unplugging the power. The controls are on the BACK of the screen and are all but unusable. The primary "smart" functions were always invasive. Some basic functions - such as choosing an input - requires the use of a tiny joystick on the back of the screen to navigate a cluttered menu, or the use of the included remote control to do the same - because there is no input button on the remote.

While I find the S9 to be a good, clear picture, the light bleed, inefficient controls, infuriating menu, lack of reliability, and the fact that this has been repaired twice in one year (both times needing 4 weeks for turnaround) makes this an iffy monitor for a grand (I paid less than that in a sale a year ago). On a positive note, as the primary screen on my wife's mini, it does light up reliable after sleep (though there's a several second delay) and my wife likes the camera (though there appears to be no way to narrow its very wide field of view) and the speakers are (barely) adequate for her FaceTime and Zoom calls, helping to declutter her desk from external cameras, mics, and speakers.

As for me... I now drive two Studio Displays purchased on sale last month with a new M4 Pro mini. They are gorgeous and have been rock-solid reliable so far. For the extra $ I think they are worth it. And the mini is an absolute animal for the hobby work I do with video, photos, and such.

Just finished a week-long customer service nightmare warranty claim on a new Samsung TV that died after 5 months.

Need I say more.
I have journeyed down that road a few times with Samsung - a couple times on major appliances, more recently on electronics. I can honestly say that I have never, ever, been happy with the way Samsung handled (mishandled?) my service, repairs, or the claim process. It has always been a huge frustration for me.

Good discount on monitors. $50 for just pre reserving the new Galaxy devices without providing any card information is good. Can always decide later if going ahead with the purchase. Wonder whether there will be any other pre order bonus.
