It’s absolutely crazy that in 2024 they will try to sell you 8/256 for premium price. Shameful

But oh so profitable. In those earnings threads, where we celebrate “another record quarter” and proclaim them geniuses, etc., tactics like this is how they do that. Geniu$e$!???

A few people were commenting about 8GB and I was very confused as they all start at 16 now. Makes me wonder if they even read the post before making comments.
Most people don't bother reading. A few don't know what all that technical stuff if (What is a "GB" or a "core"?)

And you know what? The vast majority only run a web browser on the Mac and 8GB RAM is overkill for that.

I've helped a few people buy computers recently and believe me, the above is true. Without help, they would have shopped using the only feature they understood, price.

8GB/256 ain't cutting it these days.
8-core/256GB. There are literally no products with 8GB of RAM mentioned on this page.

The 256GB base storage - no disagreement there. I don't personally use much local storage, but it is a bit stingy
