Apple Readies WWDC Stream on YouTube Ahead of Keynote Next Week

I wish they'd quit with the pre-recorded BS. It's so boring.

I wish they'd go back to in-person demos. It feels much more real and personal, which is exactly how Apple products are supposed to be. The pre-recorded demos and cheesy Apple Park flythrough transitions had their day. But let's get back to what made Apple great. Or do they not have enough people who could pull it off anymore?

100% agree but its probably quite difficult to demo things in person that don't actually exist.

They are more showy now then they ever have been. When you go back and watch the old keynotes with Steve Jobs you really get a feel for how good he was. You wanted to listen to him and hear his thoughts and especially "one more thing". Now it seems like Apple has gone down the path of trying to be the "cool kid" and they think they are very funny and people just love them. It has had the opposite effect on me. I have been following all the keynotes since I first had a Mac back in OS 9 days and remember when OS X was first announced, the excitement and build up for that, being there on day one to get the OS X installer disc. All the subsequent events with all the amazing releases after that which were so simple, just people on a stage yet I would watch the whole thing. The pre-recorded stuff is just boring and I scrub through and watch at my own pace as it does not feel like a live event that I want to be there for.

I expect nothing from Apple yet Apple will mange to disappoint me. Again.

pre-recorded is better. gets rid of dumb moments tbh and gets points across faster. plus it always starts on time.

And that right there is the issue - it allows for the editing out of mistakes etc.

Go back and look at all of the keynotes with Jobs. There's mistakes (Rokr demo), flubs (the clicker not working & Jobs telling a story of Wozniak), Schiller leaping 30ft down holding an iBook. Those keynotes had charm, spontaneity and were generally fun to watch.

Today's keynote videos are more akin to watching a boilerplate list getting checked off.
