I .... um .... dropped $32 on preordering one of the cute little chargers. Batteries are a hobby of mine and while I understand this is not a necessary thing, I'm looking forward to it. Little bit of fun to brighten my day.

I'm really having a hard time imagining why a charger needs a display, other than as a way to make them look flashy and coax people into spending more than they need.

Everyone is hating on these chargers. I love their products and their flashiness. Their chargers are small and work well. If they want to put screens on them, why not? They have chargers without the flashiness. It’s nice to see how much power your devices are pulling and to witness the device slow down the power draw as it becomes more full.

Two things:
[LIST=1]
* I don't need my charger to tell me "Hi" with a cutesy little face. A display on something like this is pointless and only adds cost for the consumer. A second USB-C port is infinitely more useful.
* You don't need your charger to identify which iPhone you have. The iPhone already completes the handshake with PD and requests the amount it needs to charge efficiently, using its built-in algorithms. This is marketing fluff.
