Wow! That was AMAZING! Not! A big nothing burger for sure. Mac Neo made with all the left over iPhone and iPad parts. An iPad with a keyboard running MacOS.

It's another lesson learned for Apple watchers. Marketing always has a job to do. Remember how some posters genuinely thought the discs in the invite represented glasses or something? And this would be some theme park-level experience?
Quite. Marketing certainly has an insane level of influence at Apple Park these days. The iPhone 16 Apple Intelligence debacle should have neutered that, but no, the tail continues to wag the dog.

Steve Jobs was a master of underpromising and over-delivering. Apple appears to take the opposite view these days.

The adorable neo saved what was otherwise a very, to me, ho hum spec bump week.

While not for me the neo is a very compelling product for first time Mac users and, to me, a viable alternative to the iPad has to also have a keyboard crowd.

Will it replace my venerable m1 air? Nope. But it wasn’t meant to I don’t think.
