Apple Shares New 'Ridiculously Powerful' and 'Hey Siri' iPhone 6s Ads

Hey Siri, define "false advertising."

OK, fine, I'll say it. Maybe I'm being persnickety, but I don't like how all of these headlines say "Apple shares..." like they're so graciously and generously blessing us with their advertising. They could keep it to themselves, but no, we are so lucky they are SHARING it with us.... How about "Apple unveils..." or "Apple releases..." I never say to my friend: "Did you see that new commercial that McDonalds shared during the Super Bowl?". I say "Did you see that new McDonalds commercial?".

I can see how, in a sense, "sharing" is used in context with being online; "sharing photos", "sharing articles", "sharing <online content>" -- but I thought I've seen these same advertisements that are always "shared" with us on MacRumors on TV as well. Correct me if I'm wrong and these are always online-only. If not, and they make it to TV, it would seem "sharing" that would apply to an online context does not seem to work here, it just makes it sound like we're feeling so fortunate to get to see these. (and some aren't very good, but some are OK)

I want an ad that just has a greasy guy looking at an iPhone on a table rubbing his hands and saying "yesssss, it's very nicccccce" and then he licks his lips and it just shows the 

Not persnickety if you ask me. Exactly what I've been thinking all this time too; cringe every time I read it, makes no sense to use the word "shares."

You two are reading waaay too much into it. Sharing is just an operative word in social media. There's even a share button on this post.

Apple 'unveils' is for product, 'releases' for software updates.
