Today, Apple Watch users in the United States can earn a limited edition Activity award and animated iMessage stickers in honor of Veterans Day. To participate, users must record any workout of 11 minutes or more.

Veterans who sign up for Apple Music for the first time throughout the month of November will receive an extended four-month free trial in the United States. Apple Music typically offers a three-month free trial for new subscribers.

Apple is also highlighting veterans-related content in the App Store, Apple TV app, and Apple Books app, and made a donation to Team Rubicon.

We owe a debt of gratitude to our nation's heroes and their families — brave, selfless people who have sacrificed to help build a brighter future for all. This #VeteransDay, let us thank them for their service, honor their stories and cherish their lessons. — Tim Cook (@tim_cook) November 11, 2020

RIP, MacBook Ultra

Apple today sent out invites for an experience in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 28, and the "Pro and tell" tagline on the invitation likely means that the rumored MacBook models with touch-enabled OLED displays will stick with MacBook Pro branding instead of the once-rumored "MacBook Ultra" name. The long-rumored "iPhone Ultra" ended up being named iPhone Duo, so speculation that Apple...

🤦‍♂️Either give them something or don't. It's a music service not a cell phone deal.

As a Veteran myself, we need stop with all these pointless congratulatory holidays, including Veterans day. Admiration is not why we served. Neither is the reason we have children(Parent Day's). Or what ever dumb look-a-me holiday we come up with. Holidays should be about remembrance not recognition, i.e., Memorial Day.

As a veteran myself, I find a lot of these offerings off putting. Let us be honest most places are doing it for PR only and the offerings suck to be honest. I like the offering from my local bar. 2 free beers and and a free dozen wings.

I have my own Remembrance Day every year on 6/6 to remember D-Day. Usually I spend some time thinking about how grateful I am to the greatest generation and their sacrifices for us all. I’m Swedish, and my country was weak and acted cowardly during WW2. And I feel grateful that other nations kept Sweden from becoming a nazistate. No achievement in my phone is required. Thank you.

Is there nothing that doesn't have to be turned into a consumer event? To me, Remembrance Day is about recognition of those who've died, not a few discounts and offers for those serving. Sure, you can offer those any other time you like, but maybe just focus on the more important things once a year, and do it with a bit of respect and decorum?
