iPhone SE 4 Mass Production Timeframe Revealed as Launch Gets Closer

Apple suppliers will begin mass production of the fourth-generation iPhone SE in December, supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said today in a blog post.

The fourth-generation iPhone SE is expected to have a similar design as the base iPhone 14, with rumored features including a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID, a newer A-series chip, a USB-C port, a single 48-megapixel rear camera, 8GB of RAM to enable Apple Intelligence support, and the first-ever Apple-designed 5G modem.

The new iPhone SE is expected to be released in the first half of 2025, with a launch in March or April most likely, and mass production of the device beginning in December would make sense given that timeframe. Kuo estimates that Apple suppliers will produce around 8.6 million fourth-generation iPhone SE units through the first quarter of next year.

Apple released the current iPhone SE in March 2022.

No, I'm here with you also

I tolerate my 13 Mini, but am always delighted when I pick up my SE1s

(I have a couple SE1s that I use every day around the house and on walks)

Would love something truly small again

I wish my 13 Mini wasn't so heavy -- just dropped it again last night and burned through yet another screen protector

Any idea how long the 2022 SE will support the latest version of iOS? If it will be another 2 years, then I think I will buy another one as backup before they discontinue it. After that phone, I will be forced to leave the Apple ecosystem. :(
Going by history, at least another 3 years for new OS and 4 to 5 years for OS security updates and bug fixes.

iOS 18 can run on an iPhone Xr and Xs which came out in 2018. That means iPhone Xr and Xs will get iOS 18 updates until at least the end of 2025.

The 2022 SE is basically an iPhone 13 (they both use the A15 SoC) which came out in 2021 so it should at least get iOS security and bug fix updates until the end of 2028.

It’d be a shame if it’s indeed 6.1”. The new SE was the best chance at new phone that wasn’t a phablet.
