The myVW ap is available for most MY20+ ICE and electric vehicles that have an applicable connected vehicle service plan. Volkswagen has several paid plan options, like Remote Access, VW Vehicle Insights, and Safe and Secure.

Some of the features available through the Apple Watch app include Lock/Unlock, Honk and Flash, Vehicle Status, and Lock Status. For EVs, Remote Charging, Charge Status, and Climate Start/Stop are available. ICE models have access to Remote Start/Stop and Fuel Status.

To use the app, vehicle owners will need to download the myWV app, accept the myVW terms of service, add their vehicle to the virtual garage, and subscribe to a paid or included Remote Access or VW Vehicle Insights plan.

I know this is just a typo, but I do think the concept is hilarious, even if a bit unhygienic
I'm not going to correct/edit the original, because you are right, it's a funny error.

Or, maybe VW is doing a DNA validation of my identity, cause they can figure that out, just not how to let me roll down my windows from the app. 🤣

I shouldn’t have to tell the car who I am by licking my name on a screen

VW ID Cars software is so bad, why they doubled down on it is beyond me. Sent mine back the UI was bad and the bugginess was awful. VW stick to making cars let software companies make software

Since I don't drive regularly, I only use myAudi to check in advance whether I need to put gas in the tank before my next jaunt. Otherwise, the key fob gives me as much remote action as I need. And of course, I'm not such a 1st-world wimp that I cannot hop into a cold vehicle or a hot vehicle.
True. But shoving your toddler or ancient mother in law into a 125 degree car isn’t always legal…

I'm surprised and pleased by this news as a VW owner, but I'm doubtful this solves my main wishes for the VW iPhone app, and I assume the VW Watch app by extension, which are:
- to be able to lock/unlock my car remotely (VW includes this function in some cars but not others for no apparent reason)
- to be able to use Siri to open the trunk/hatch door, as well as other functions like turn on and set climate, open/close windows, lock/unlock doors, open/close roof shade
My girlfriend got a new Tiguan last year and I got a new GTI. The app tells is if our doors or locked or unlocked, and we can lock or unlock them remotely. She can start her Tiguan's engine remotely, but I can't start my GTI's engine remotely. So, it depends on the model.

I agree, the software is crap. But I love how the cars drive. As long as I can use CarPlay, which I can, I can deal with the software… not that I don’t wish it were better.

When I got my ID.4, it was pretty much a given I’d end up in another VW (I’ve always liked them), but since I was new to EVs I did all the test driving and research. Tesla’s software is great, sure, but I want a comfortable drive more than raw speed, and nobody beats VW for that, IMO.
Same reason I bought my 2023 ID.4 AWD earlier this year, and it had software v3.5 installed. For what it does, 3.5 works great. No lag, no crashing, no issues. It's not Tesla or Rivian level, but it's easy to use while driving. I do give VW props for actually fixing the awful, early OS quagmire that originally kept me from ever considering a VW EV. Many car makers love to ship and forget, even some of the current EV trendsetters.

VW's mobile app seemed to be losing features for a bit, which was alarming, so Apple Watch support is a pleasant surprise. Aside from faster communication/feedback from the vehicle, what it still needs is a watch face complication or Smart Stack widget for quick access, showing SOC, etc. Widgets on the iOS app would be nice, too. Fingers crossed!
