Siri AI Will Have a Waitlist When iOS 27 Launches

iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS Golden Gate include Siri AI, Apple's much more capable version of ‌Siri‌. When the new updates launch, it appears Apple will use a waitlist and limit initial access.

macOS iOS 27 Siri App Feature
On the MacRumors forums, pdfu found that the seventh betas of ‌iOS 27‌, ‌iPadOS 27‌, and ‌macOS Golden Gate‌ include waitlist infrastructure.

Apple will use dynamic wait time messages once a user joins the ‌Siri‌ AI waitlist. It looks like Apple will give a clear estimate of the wait, and the company will be able to adjust the wait time readouts server-side based on demand and capacity. Apple will send a notification when ‌Siri‌ AI can be used.

‌Siri‌ AI had a waitlist during the beta testing period. It took up to a week for some people to get access, but there's no indication yet of how long people might have to wait after the public launch in September.

So we don't even get past the waitlist as a thank you for using the betas and helping Apple clean up the software? Wow.
If you already have Siri AI, you don't need to rejoin the waitlist.

I have been pretty impressed with SIRI AI on the beta, I honestly find it useful. I still use other AI for other things but I like how I can query SIRI and actually have good answers is a good step. Though, I find it ironic they had to use google gemini to make this happen.

I’m on iOS 27 beta and am I the only one who doesn’t really find Siri much more capable than it was before? It has its own app but there are almost no proactive features that Apple advertised in their original reveal. It still fails often enough that I don’t want to use it and look like an idiot.

What is the difference between "indexing" and waitlist? I thought IOS 26.6 was the waitlist and IOS 27 would be good to go.
Indexing makes your files and data visible to Siri. The waitlist is there so that Apple can properly manage the 10GB+ of model data each device needs to download to run Siri AI and other experiences across the OS. edit: It also helps them manage traffic to their Private Cloud Compute servers, which are involved in most non-basic Siri AI requests.
