Four New iPad Pro Models Spotted in Chinese User Manual on Apple's Website [Updated]

Four new iPad Pro models were temporarily listed in a Chinese user manual for iPadOS 13 on Apple's website, including two 11-inch and two 12.9-inch models, as spotted by the blog iPhone in Canada. The new model numbers include A2228, A2229, A2231, and A2233. Apple removed all four models from the user manual earlier today.

Apple already filed model A2228 in the Eurasian Economic Commission database in July 2019, in addition to model A2229 yesterday.

All of this is increasing evidence that an iPad Pro refresh could be on the horizon. A few months ago, noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo forecasted that Apple will launch new iPad Pro models with a triple-lens rear camera system and 3D sensing for augmented reality in the first half of 2020, although it is unclear if the COVID-19 pandemic has changed that plan.

Update: CoinX, an anonymous Twitter account with a reputable track record, has hinted that an iPad Pro refresh could be on the horizon.

I don’t know if I’m too unique of a consumer for this but an iPad Pro mini would be amazing. Not from a performance perspective but the form factor. I use my mini daily for my work and it’s much better for travel (whenever that resumes). Probably not enough demand for Apple to make it but maybe one day!

Yeah I thought so too. The general rumors (as far as I can recall) are pointing towards end of the year or perhaps the next instead. Either way, I just hope they'll release the new iPad Pro already cuz I'm eagerly waiting to buy one for work, but it just doesn't make sense to buy the existing iPad Pro right now...... lol

I think a lot of people (on here) are probably in the same situation. The current iPad Pros are way more powerful than most people will ever need, but as we know there's a refresh coming, we're holding off.

For me, native mouse support with some sort of Apple keyboard (with trackpad) is a game changer for me - I could finally look to replace my laptop with an iPad.

My prediction:

1. No A14X but A13X
2. No 5G but 4G
3. Triple camera + ToF camera
4. New keyboard folio + trackpad
5. Same display, no mini-LED

Then the next iteration of iPad Pro will be in fall 2021 with A15X, Qualcomm 5G and mini-LED and/or OLED display.

I'll be that paranoid guy and do a hard pass on any new tech from China until Covid-19 is absolutely gone.

Don't know where you learned that "science" but that's completely inaccurate. Viruses can survive weeks at most, (like any organism, they need something to survive off of.) 🤦‍♂️;)

Weren’t you the paranoid guy who just posted about waiting months or years to buy an iPad because you don’t understand viruses don’t remain viable on hard surfaces for long? o_O

I would be very interested in an iPad Mini with faceid, slimmer bezels, and the 3-camera-array.
